Positive discrimination is still discrimination

England Expects gives us a run down of the Tory selection for MEP. Lots of women who did not receive the main support from the membership have been put in high on the list because of their possession of a vagina. Nothing more, nothing less.

I would be utterly appalled and humiliated if my job was given to me because I'm a woman. I know that the number 2 on the East Midlands is hardly a bright cookie, nor someone I would ever trust anything with as she is only out for herself, but she will probably become an MEP because of her gender. Do these women have no shame? Are breasts now the be-all and end-all in politics? I hope not. The girl can't even get a bra that's the right size.

The Conservative MEP selections were unfair and discriminatory - not the way a party which supposedly believes in meritocracy should be conducting itself.

That said, do I also detect a hit of jealousy regarding Emma?

To be fair, I nicked the list from Con Home

No jealousy here. I don't like the girl and I don't like her behaviour but no need to feel envious from this end!

Fair enough.

Oh do try to hide your envy of number 2 in the East Midlands. Try to be happy with yourself rather than wishing you were someone else.

A bit of jealousy? A bit? As green as green can be I'd say.

The main thing is not to chose a white , heterosexual , right handed male.

well they pee standing up don't they?

Positive discrimination is still discrimination and should therefore be illegal.

By all means try to get more people from certain groups of the population involved in politics, but ignoring the will of voters in MEP selection is unacceptable.

why is it that if a man criticises a man it's okay, but if a woman criticises a woman it's jealous?

Do grow up, you spineless anonymous bastards. It may surprise you to know that not everyone interested in politics wants to be a politician.

And that's without even going into the hospital story!

Trixy, if we're honest we know the vaginas will blend in well with all the cunts in Brussels!

I guess they got to use the jealous card, cause the sexism one won't work this time.

Me, I'm just thinking about how everytime someone questions the qualifications of one of these superwomen, they get a diagnosis of their own mental disorders. How come noone can make a *positive* argument for these women ?

Trixy women have always got on just because they have vaginae and breasts are no more than a reminder to men that women have vaginae. That's why women and their wants were ignored, until those men who lacked balls gave them votes. Now look at the mess we're in. The best place to put women who want political power is the EU parliament, which is powerless and where they can do least harm.

William, I suspect that you and I would disagree on a few issues. I, for example, think that this country is was pretty great under the leadership of a few women such as Elizabeth I, II, Victoria and most importantlt the Lady herself.

'The girl can't even get a bra that's the right size.'

Unlike pants which can stretch for whole yards at a time eh?
